Statement on Supplemental Insurance from Greg Gibson

As a retired Major League Umpire, I understand firsthand the unique challenges and risks that come with officiating at the highest levels of sports. While we dedicate ourselves to ensuring fair play and upholding the integrity of the game, we also face the reality of potential injuries that can impact our health and financial stability. 

That’s why I strongly advocate for the importance of supplemental insurance for all officials, especially those of us who have dedicated our careers to this profession. Supplemental insurance not only provides essential financial protection against unforeseen injuries but also reinforces a culture of support among officials. 

"Helping you make the right call” is more than just a motto; it’s a commitment to look out for one another. By embracing supplemental insurance, we can create a safety net that safeguards our peers and their families, ensuring that no official faces financial hardship alone. Together, we can foster a community where every official feels secure in their ability to perform their duties, knowing that they are protected both on and off the field.
